Halfway There - 10 hubs in 24 hours
67This is my 5th hub today, meaning that I'm half way done with my self imposed 10 hubs in 24 hours challenge.
I thought I might talk a little bit about my thoughts on hubbing, and my hubpages career so far.
As you can see, I signed up for hubpages months ago. But after signing up and writing my very first hub, I didn't find my self back here writing for nearly 6 months. I did occasionally check back to read other hubs, but I was not able to bring myself to sit down and write.
For whatever reason, I found my way back here recently, and decided I would really give this thing a try. I wasn't sure If I would be able to last more than a few hubs, but I thought "why not?" It couldn't hurt anything. I knew that money would not be forthcoming. I knew it takes a lot of dedication and willpower to start getting payouts from adsense. I figured that at least I could practice writing and learn something in the process. But after working on some hubs over the last couple of weeks I've really discovered the secret behind hubpages.
I've found that it's not about making money, or about getting views. It's about the journey. Everyday I get up and I not only check to see how my hubs are doing but I check out other people's hubs. I love the answers feature too. What a fun and simply way of hearing different points of view. I'm now becoming an avid user of hubhopper too. Sure there are a lot of junk hubs out there, but I enjoy helping out hubpages by tagging the bad ones and making sure the gems get seen by more people. I've also realized one more thing.
If hubpages does become a source of income for me in the future, it will be probably one of the most personally rewarding and fulfilling means I have of earning money. There are few jobs out there where you get to be this creative and work with such a huge group of different people from all over the world. Even if I don't make a bunch of cash from adsense, just the interaction and fun of writing something that other people will see, and maybe even help or inform them is fantastic in its own way.
This challenge has helped me see all these things, and has really energized me to do even more with my hubpages account. Once I finish I know I'll be able to stick around for the long term and keep on producing.
The only difficulty I can see in the near future, is figuring out what to write about next.
Thanks for reading, and good luck with your own hubbing.
